In The News: ASUS Unveils Three Premium 1440p Gaming Monitors at Gamescom 2024

Three new premium 1440p gaming monitors join the ASUS Republic of Gamers stable: the 26.5" ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, which is the world's first 1440p 480 Hz OLED monitor, the 26.5" 360 Hz ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG and the 27" ROG Swift 360 Hz PG27AQNR.

At Gamescom 2024, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG and the ROG Swift 360 Hz PG27AQNR gaming monitors, as per the brand's press release.

The Swift OLED PG27AQDP is the world’s first 1440p 480 Hz monitor, and features an anti-glare WOLED panel. The 26.5" Strix OLED XG27ACDNG on the other hand, comes with a 360 Hz refresh rate and a QHD QD-OLED panel that has an anti-reflective finish - both monitors feature ASUS's Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) and OLED Anti-Flicker technologies. Rounding up the trio of new monitors is the 27" ROG Swift 360 Hz PG27AQNR, which features a QHD Ultrafast IPS display and G-SYNC® Pulsar, making it well-suited for e-sports and competitive gaming.

In addition to the premium three-year ROG warranty, both OLED monitors (the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP and the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG) feature OLED Care+, a suite of features designed to protect the panel. OLED Care+ settings can be easily accessed and managed through ASUS's DisplayWidget Center software. In addition to all the features provided by the original OLED Care, the new OLED Care+ enables Taskbar Detection, Outer Dimming Control, and Global Dimming Control. To round things up, ASUS has also provided adjustable HDR settings to allow end-users the flexibility to tailor onscreen visuals according to one's preferences. These new features will soon be made available for other ROG gaming monitors.

The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP is the world’s first OLED gaming monitor that offers 1440p visuals at an ultra-smooth 480 Hz refresh rate. It features a 26.5" WOLED panel with an anti-glare coating, a 0.03 ms response time, and a new RWGB subpixel layout for clearer text. The Swift OLED PG27AQDP includes AI Assistant, which boasts a suite of features such as AI Visual, AI Crosshair, AI Sniper, AI ShadowBoost and the MOBA Map Helper to enhance one's gaming experience.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG has a 26.5", 2560 x 1440 QD-OLED panel that features an anti-reflective coating, 360 Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03 ms response time. It includes a new heatsink design that allows for effective heat dissipation and thermal management. The compact monitor base is designed to free up desk space and also comes with a mobile phone slot. Additionally, the Strix OLED XG27ACDNG includes the Dynamic Brightness Boost feature that dials up luminance levels at low APL window sizes, as well as AI Visual that automatically detects what is on-screen, and thereafter adjusts to provide the best default or user-preset monitor settings. The monitor also comes with a USB-C® port with support for 90-watt Power Delivery, and will be available come early Q4 of 2024.

ROG Swift 360 Hz PG27AQNR

According to ASUS, the ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR is specifically designed to meet the needs of e-sports and competitive gamers. The monitor features a 27" QHD 360 Hz Ultrafast IPS panel that supports the latest G-SYNC® Pulsar technology for enhanced motion clarity. It also has a built-in DisplayPort™ 1.4 with DSC, two HDMI® 2.1 ports, and a USB port for firmware updates. The ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR will be available in Q4, 2024.
