NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GPUs have dropped, and if you're looking for one that fits a white-themed PC build to the hilt, Gigabyte's RTX 4080 AERO OC might just be the card that you're looking for.

Fresh from the launch of the RTX 4000 series of GPUs built on the Ada Lovelace architecture, starting first with the flagship RTX 4090 back in October 2022, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4080 16GB graphics cards are now available to purchase as of 16 November 2022 6AM PST. Aesthetics & Physical Features

The AERO OC sports a silver-and-white aesthetic, where silver accents can be found on the white-coloured fan shroud, whilst the protective metal backplate is finished in silver.

The long-edge of the card houses RGB lighting effects where the "AERO" branding is located. End-users of this card will be able to adjust the said lighting effects via Gigabyte's RGB Fusion app.

Gigabyte has included dual BIOSes for the AERO OC, where owners of this card will be able to toggle between an OC BIOS and Silent BIOS to suit one's usage circumstances.

Summary

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 16GB AERO OC is a good looking RTX 4080 graphics card that, given its aesthetics, would be right at home in a white-themed PC build.

While I did not get the chance to put this card through its paces with benchmarks, an initial sense of the market reaction to the RTX 4080's pricing and performance in general seem to indicate that NVIDIA might do well to revise the RTX 4080 16GB's prices downwards, as its current pricing places it very close to the RTX 4090 that can offer significantly better performance. Perhaps with the launch of AMD's RDNA 3 cards, namely the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT in December 2022, competition from Team Red might encourage NVIDIA to price the RTX 4080 16GB in a more palatable price bracket - only time will tell if this is going to happen.
